Sylvia Plath’s membership card to The Poetry Society of America for the year 1959-1960. Signed by Plath, “Sylvia Plath Hughes” and with her printed name and address: Sylvia Plath (Mrs. Ted Hughes) 26 Elmwood Road Wellesley, Massachusetts. In very good condition.

Sylvia Plath met fellow poet Ted Hughes in February of 1956, whom she described as "a singer, story-teller, lion and world-wanderer" with "a voice like the thunder of God." They were married within a year and spent their honeymoon in Paris and Benidorm before Plath returned to Cambridge to begin her second year at Newnham College. The following October, Plath published the only volume of poetry published during her lifetime, The Colossus and Other Poems, published three years before her death in 1963.
