Limited deluxe advance screening copy of Spielberg’s monumental 2012 historical drama Lincoln, one of only 250 copies sent to members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. Housed in a custom clamshell display box, this is number 117 of 250 copies. Laid in is a typed letter signed by Steven Spielberg and addressed to Bill Zwecker. Also accompanied by a film brochure signed by Sally Field (who played First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln), James Spader (Republican Party operative William N. Bilbo), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Robert Todd Lincoln). From the collection of Bill Zwecker. A member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, Zwecker was a longtime entertainment and celebrity journalist. A Chicago native and second-generation newspaper star (his late mother, Peg Zwecker, was the fashion editor of the Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News), Zwecker began his journalism career in the 1980s and has since interviewed some of the most renowned celebrities across a breadth of industries. He has been a frequent contributor to numerous national news and entertainment programs including Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, Showbiz Tonight, Extra, and the Today Show. In December 2012, the film was nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Spielberg and winning Best Actor (Motion Picture – Drama) for Day-Lewis. At the 85th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for twelve Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director; it won for Best Production Design and Best Actor for Day-Lewis.
