Richard Halliburton was an incredible American adventurer best known for his successful swim across the length of the Panama Canal, a feat recalled in great detail in 'New Worlds to Conquer.' Having previously published two books on his journeys, 'The Royal Road to Romance' in 1925 and 'The Glorious Adventure' in 1927, Halliburton produced his third as a chronology of his adventures in Latin America, bringing readers stories of foreign encounters and near-impossible acts as astounding as he is known for.
