American landscape photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams known for his black and white photographs of the American West. He and Fred Archer developed a system of image-making called the Zone System, demonstrating the impact that exposure, negative development, and printing have on the tonal range of an image. With a strong devotion to the protection of the wilderness, Adams acts in defense of the living that cannot speak for themselves. In 'My Camera in the National Parks,' he gives a voice to oceans and forests, mountains and rivers, glaciers and canyons.
