English-American actor Cary Grant became one of the definitive leading men of Hollywood in the 1940s; known for his debonair demeanor, light-hearted approach to acting, and sense of comic timing. In the 40s and 50s, Grant developed a working relationship with director Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in a number of his films including To Catch a Thief (1955) and North by Northwest (1959).
