Ford inviting DiMaggio to be a guest of honor at the 28th annual Salute to Excellence weekend program in June 1989, signed by Gerald Ford and Clint Eastwood; and an invitation to a luncheon held on Thursday, November 10, 1988 from President and Mrs. Reagan. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from DiMaggio’s estate signed by his granddaughters Paula DiMaggio Hamra and Kathie DiMaggio Stein. In fine condition.

Nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper", American baseball legend Joe DiMaggio is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time; perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak of 1941, a record that still stands. At the time of his retirement after the 1951 season, he ranked fifth in career home runs (361) and sixth in career slugging percentage (.579). He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955, and was voted the sport's greatest living player in a poll taken during the baseball centennial year of 1969.
