Illustrated with color plates by Harold Sterner. Association copy, inscribed by Jacqueline Kennedy to her mother and stepfather Hugh D. Auchincloss, “For Mummy and Uncle Hugh with love, Jackie.” Hugh D. Auchincloss was an American stockbroker and lawyer who became the second husband of Nina S. Gore, mother of Gore Vidal, and also the second husband of Janet Lee Bouvier, the mother of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Caroline Lee Bouvier. Very good in a very good price-clipped dust jacket. Introduction by Lloyd Goodrich and text by Frederick L. Kramer with a commentary by Mrs. Paul Mellon.
