Frustrated that he did not win the Republican nomination for the Presidency in 1912, Roosevelt founded the Progressive or the "Bull Moose" party in order to challenge the Republican incumbent William Howard Taft. The title cartouche is guarded by two dogs, draped with fruit, and flanked by Moses inscribing the ten commandments and a Jewish high priest. In fine condition. Double matted and framed.
