Publishing as Gertrude Colmore, American writer and suffragist Gertrude Baillie-Weaver was active when the suffragettes were most militant. In 1911, she published her best-known work, Suffragette Sally, which furthered the cause of the women’s movement by gaining empathy from its readers.
