This is the eighth volume in the series of monographs devoted to the projects of the world renowned architect Renzo Piano.Using material taken from the Renzo Piano archives and using images that are largely previously unpublished it explores the creation of the new building in Athens that houses the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), which will contain the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera.The building is set within the Stavros Niarchos park, and thus a new urban icon has arisen, that enables both Greek citizens and global visitors to experience art and education set within a green space.
