Association copy, inscribed by the author on the half-title page in the year of publication, “For Ray Holland one of the best editors in the game, and as good a sportsman as there is in the world, and the last goes also for Dan who will soon rank with the old man on the first. With my very best wishes to you both. S. Kip Farrington Dec. 22nd 1937.” The recipient, Ray Holland, was the former editor of Field & Stream Magazine and author of several books on the outdoors.
