Blofeld is the son of Thomas Robert Calthorpe Blofeld (1903-1986) who attended Eton with Fleming and who’s name is believed to be the inspiration for the supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket with light rubbing to the extremities. Jacket design by Pat Marriott. Rare and desirable with noted provenance.
The further adventures of "literature's most famous spy" (Steinbrunner & Penzler, 151) and basis for the first Bond film in 1962, starring Sean Connery and Ursula Andress. Time acclaimed the title villain as "one of the least forgettable characters in modern fiction" (Black, 32).
