Full-length group photograph of presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Herbert Hoover and Harry S. Truman standing together on June 17, 1947 during Princeton University’s bicentennial anniversary celebration, shot by Alan Richards. Signed on the matte by each below the relevant portrait and additionally dated “3-6-57” by Harry S. Truman. In very good condition with toning to the edges. Double matted. The entire piece measures 16.25 inches by 14 inches. Additionally with typed letters to Gilbert Lea from Hoover’s Assistant Secretary Connie Dibble, returning the signed photograph (New York, 14 February) and from Edmund S. DeLong, confirming that the three presidents remain Princeton alumni in good standing and crediting the photographer (Princeton, 3 April 1957). Rare and desirable.

Herbert Hoover, Harry S. Truman, and Dwight D. Eisenhower were the 31st, 33rd, and 34th presidents of the United States, respectively. Hoover served from 1929 to 1933, during the beginning of the Great Depression. Truman served from 1949 to 1953, and Eisenhower served from 1953 to 1961.
