Highly esteemed and controversial American military officer George Smith Patton Jr. rose to prominence for his leadership during World War II. Graduating from West Point in 1909, he distinguished himself in World War I and later played pivotal roles in the Allied invasions of North Africa and Sicily, as well as the liberation of Nazi concentration camps. Known for his aggressive and innovative military strategies, Patton's commanding style, coupled with his outspoken personality and belief in destiny, made him both revered and criticized.
