Henry Teesdale was a prominent London-based map publisher, recognized as an early Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (elected in 1830), who gained success through his publication of various atlases and individual maps, often collaborating with colleagues like John Crane Dower, Christopher Greenwood, and Josiah Henshall, even after his initial partnership with John Hordan and William Colling Hodson dissolved in 1832; his business thrived to the point where he became a registered partner in the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1845.
