J.M. Barrie, the Scottish novelist and playwright, is best known for creating Peter Pan, a timeless tale that explores themes of childhood, imagination, and the desire to escape the constraints of adulthood. Born in 1860 in Kirriemuir, Scotland, Barrie was deeply influenced by his upbringing and personal experiences, particularly his relationship with the Llewelyn Davies family, whose children inspired Peter Pan. His work blends fantasy with psychological depth, reflecting anxieties about time, identity, and the ephemeral nature of youth. Beyond Peter Pan, Barrie wrote numerous plays and novels, including The Little White Bird (1902), which first introduced the character of Peter Pan.
