Boldly signed by both DiMaggio and Mantle. Double matted and framed. The entire piece measures 23 inches by 19 inches. Rare and desirable.
American baseball legend Joe DiMaggio is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, and is best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands. During his tenure with the Yankees, the club won ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships including the 1951 World Series Championship in which the Yanks defeated the New York Giants in the 1951 World Series Championship in six games; finishing the season with a record of 98 games won to 56 lost and winning their 18th pennant. The year was noted for an unprecedented 'changing of the guard', as it was Joe DiMaggio's final season and Mickey Mantle's first. Mantle would go on to play his entire Major League Baseball career (1951-1968) with the New York Yankees as a center fielder and first baseman.
