Co-produced and directed by Martin Scorsese, the epic Western crime drama film Killers of the Flower Moon was released in May of 2023 to a nine-minute standing ovation at its world premier. Based on one of the FBI's first major homicide cases, the Osage Indian murders of the 1920s, the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone met with high praise for its highlighting of crimes against Indigenous peoples which have historically been silenced.
