Susan B. Anthony was a social reformer known for her work in women's rights and anti-slavery campaigns. She was an integral part of a number of organizations, such as the Women's Loyal National League, the American Equal Rights Association, and the National Woman Suffrage Association, which later became the National American Woman Suffrage Association (and later the League of Women's Voters). She also worked internationally and played an integral part in the creation of the International Council of Women. Although she never saw in her lifetime many of the fruits of her labors, the Nineteenth Amendment, which was passed in 1920 and gave women the right to vote, was known to many as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.
