Boldly signed by Tenzing Norgay on the front free endpaper. Near fine in a very good dust jacket with two small chips. Written with James Ramsey Ullman. Books signed by Norgay are rare.
Tenzing Norgay first became involved in the British expeditions to explore Everest in 1935, when he was only 20 years old. He along with Edmund Hillary were the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century. In 2003, India's highest adventure sports award, the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award was renamed after him.
