Published in 1953, Dr. Seuss's ninth children's book Scrambled Eggs Super! follows the story of young Peter T. Hooper, who, tired of scrambled eggs decides that, for just a change, he will try scrambling the eggs of a new king of egg... a fancy fine egg that no other cook cooks. This leads him on a journey in search of new birds along tangled trails on a mission to collect the eggs of a wide variety of exotic birds. Showcasing Seuss's playful language, vibrant illustrations, and creative storytelling, the book received positive reviews upon publication, praised by the Christian Science Monitor as a "gay extravaganza."
