Spielberg acquired the film rights to 'Jurassic Park' for $1.5 million before the book's publication in 1990. The dinosaurs in the movie were created using life-sized animatronic dinosaurs built by Stan Winston's team and computer-generated imagery by Industrial Light & Magic, which was groundbreaking for its time. John Williams composed the film's incredible score with the determination to write "pieces that would convey a sense of 'awe' and fascination," given that the it dealt with the "overwhelming happiness and excitement" of seeing live dinosaurs. The movie was a blockbuster hit and went on to gross over $914 million worldwide in its original theatrical run, surpassing Spielberg's own 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' to become the highest-grossing film of all time until the release of 'Titanic' in 1997.
