Nancy Davis was a Hollywood actress with ten movies to her credit in 1949 when she met Ronald Reagan, a handsome veteran actor. From the very start of their relationship, the Reagan's were an openly affectionate couple, and upon entering the political arena, their bond grew stronger. Construction of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library began in 1988, and when Reagan left office in 1989, he held an approval rating of 68%, matching those of Franklin D. Roosevelt, and later Bill Clinton, as the highest ratings for departing presidents in the modern era.
