By September 1951, The Caine Mutiny had become the best-selling novel in the country. The book remained on the best-seller list for two and a half years, winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1952. The Caine Mutiny was both a Broadway play and a Hollywood film starring Humphrey Bogart in an unforgettable performance as Captain Queeg.
