American Folk singer Pete Seeger has won copious awards, including the 1993 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the 1994 National Medal of Arts, the 1996 Harvard Arts Medal, and the 2008 Grammy Award. In 1996, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Incompleat Folksinger reflects on a magnanimous career and why, despite decades of work and travel that have made him famous, he remains forever in tune with the folk. "Any fool can get complicated," he writes. "We are born in simplicity but die of complications."
