In an unnamed country in 1935, inventor Salvator Waltz declares that he controls a new machine of immense destructive power called Telemort that has the capability to destroy mountains, cities, and even countries. Dismissed by the Minister of War, Waltz proceeds to conduct a series of escalating experimental explosions after which he is captured and institutionalized.
