New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1940.
First edition of Kent’s superbly illustrated autobiography describing his years in the Adirondacks. Octavo, original publisher’s cloth, illustrated with 105 drawings by Rockwell Kent. Near fine a near fine dust jacket.
In 1927, Kent moved to upstate New York where he had acquired an Adirondack farmstead. Asgaard, as he named it, was his residence for the remainder of his life, and from his studio there he worked tirelessly on countless painting and drawing assignments. In This is My Own, Kent has written not only a narrative of a rural way of life, but a declaration of faith.
