Rare autograph note signed by internet pioneer Vint Cerf regarding a significant moment in internet history. One page, partially printed, the note is written in response to the printed question: As you were creating & developing the Internet; What was the ‘key’ piece to the puzzle? What was the defining moment? Cerf responds, “The basic design of TCP and the encapsulating gateway concept. The End-to-End principle. The Nov 22, 1977 demonstration of the interconnection of ARPANET, PRNET and Packet Satellite net. Vint Cerf.” In fine condition.

American Internet pioneer Vinton Gray Cerf is widely recognized as one of "the fathers of the Internet", sharing this title with TCP/IP co-developer Bob Kahn. Cerf worked as an assistant professor at Stanford University from 1972-1976 where he conducted research on packet network interconnection protocols and co-designed the DoD TCP/IP protocol suite with Kahn. He later worked at the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and funded various groups to develop TCP/IP, packet radio (PRNET), packet satellite (SATNET) and packet security technology for use in military command.
