Scarce first edition collection Disney’s Tiny Movie Stories. 12mo, 12 volumes, illustrated. Housed in the original publisher’s pictorial box designed as a tiny movie theater with the cellophane window present. Stand-up figure of Mickey mouse on the top of the box in its original un-punched state. In near fine condition. Designed and produced by The Sandpiper Press and Artists and Writers Guild, Inc. Scarce and desirable, especially in this condition.

The beloved Little Golden Books series of children's titles were the brainchild of Georges Duplaix, who in 1940 was head of Artists and Writers Guild Inc., a division of Western Publishing. With the idea of producing a colorful, more durable and affordable kind of children's book, Duplaix partnered with Simon & Schuster to print the first 12 titles in the series in 1942. Although the Little Golden Books have remained the backbone of the product line, the enterprise that produced the Little Golden Books has created a variety of children's books in various formats including Disney's Tiny Movie series.
