Original black and white photograph signed by German-American aerospace engineer Wernher von Braun. Signed by von Braun in the upper left corner of the photograph.  In fine condition. Double matted and framed. The photograph measures 5 inches by 3 inches. The entire piece measures 8.75 inches by 8.75 inches.

Reputedly the father of rocket technology and space science in the United States, German aerospace engineer Wernher von Braun moved to the United States after WWII as part of Operation Paperclip. While working for the United States Army, von Braun developed the rockets that launched the United States' first space satellite, Explorer 1, and acted as the chief architect of the Saturn V super heavy-lift launch vehicle that propelled the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon. Von Braun recieved the National Medal of Science in 1975 and has been featured in countless movies, television series and novels including Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow and the 1998 television miniseries From the Earth to the Moon.
