First edition of this early work by the legendary creator of Peanuts. Octavo, original wrappers, illustrated. Boldly signed by Charles Schulz on the title page. In very good condition with some rubbing to the extremities. Uncommon signed.
Young Pillars was a single-panel gag strip written and drawn by Charles M. Schulz from 1956 to 1965 for the Youth Magazine published by the Church of God. The comic featured teenagers, most notably "Harold", and most were religiously themed. The strips were frequently rerun, sometimes with edited captions. Charles Schulz has been inducted into the Cartoonists Hall of Fame and won numerous awards. He was given Reuben Awards by the National Cartoonists Society in 1955 and 1964, the Yale Humor Award, the School Bell Award from the National Education Society, and the Ordre des Artes et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture.
