Unique 19th-century autograph album containing the signatures of six American presidents, fifteen senators, several cabinet members, and governors including Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, James Buchanan, and Franklin Pierce. Narrow quarto, bound in one quarter period dark brown cloth over stiff marbled wrappers, the autograph album is a repurposed 19th-century caucus record, dating from ca. 1870. The caucus book is alphabetically tab-indexed and filled out in ink, voters are tracked by their name with caucus results appearing in the back. Both the celestial and terrestrial globe measure 17 inches in diameter with a calibrated brass meridian ring and 17 inch mahogany horizon ring decorated with mounted hand colored decorations. Mounted on ebonized oak stands. Each globe is comprised of 12 richly detailed hand-colored gores with polar calottes, the terrestrial globe detailing the earth’s landmasses, major countries and cities and the celestial showing the major stars in various sizes related to their brightness. Duodecimo, bound in half leather over gray boards with approximately forty-five pages of added prayers appended and without all leaves before page twenty-five, illustrated with botanical decorations, calligraphic rubrics and borders ruled in red, and two full-page, had-colored illustrations of the penitent Mary Magdalene and a IHS monogram surrounded by a wreath of flowers. In near fine condition with light rubbing to the spine and slight toning throughout, repair to the bottom corner of the opening leaf.

Rare 18th century map of North America by Royal Hydrographer Rigobert Bonne. One page, the engraved map extends from Illinois to Florida with one of the earliest insets of Kansas City. Born in the Lorraine region of France, French cartographer Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794) was a skilled cartographer and hydrographer and succeeded Jacques Nicolas Bellin as Royal Hydrographer at the Depot de la Marine in 1773. He published many charts for the Depot, including some of those for the Atlas Maritimeof 1762. In near fine condition. Matted and framed. The entire piece measures 17 inches by 16 inches.
