Born in Buckingham Palace in 1948 as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer on July 29th, 1981 at Saint Paul's Cathedral in London; the ceremony reached a global television audience of over 750 million viewers.
